Map of Canada

Our Canadian diamonds are sourced from the Diavik and Ekati mines, which are committed to the highest possible environmental and human rights standards. Both have demonstrated a strong commitment to hiring local Indigenous people and sponsoring scholarship funds. Diavik has built the first large-scale wind farm in the Northwest Territories that can supply half the mine’s energy needs. Both mines have land reclamation and rehabilitation plans in place and have been audited by the Responsible Jewellery Council.

GIA collected and analyzed physical measurements, spectroscopic data, and imaging of this diamond as a rough crystal before it was cut and polished. A unique identification number was assigned to the rough diamond. GIA later used this data to scientifically match the polished diamond to the original rough crystal it came from. After this step of the technical rough-to-polish diamond matching process was complete, the diamond was sent for cutting and polishing.

After polishing, the diamond was resubmitted to GIA with its unique rough identification number for a full grading analysis and GIA’s scientific matching process to confirm its country of origin. The GIA Diamond Origin Report that accompanies your diamond includes the GIA report number laser inscribed on the diamond, a full 4Cs grading assessment of the diamond, and scientific confirmation of the diamond’s country of origin.

The Four C's of Your Diamond

Diamond Size: 0.50 Ct

The carat is the unit of weight of a diamond. Carat is often confused with size even though it is actually a measure of weight. One carat equals 200 milligrams or 0.2 grams. The scale below illustrates the typical size relationship between diamonds of increasing carat weights. Remember that while the measurements below are typical, every diamond is unique.

Cut: Ideal

The cut refers to the angles and proportions of a diamond. The cut of a diamond - its form and finish, its depth and width, the uniformity of the facets - determines its beauty. The skill with which a diamond is cut determines how well it reflects and refracts light.

Clarity: VVS2

A diamond's clarity refers to the presence of impurities on and within the stone. When a rough stone is extracted from carbon deep beneath the earth, tiny traces of natural elements are almost always trapped inside and are called inclusions.

Color: J

Color is the natural color visible in a diamond and does not change over time. Colorless diamonds allow more light to pass through than a colored diamond, releasing more sparkle and fire. Acting as a prism, a diamond divides light into a spectrum of colors and reflects this light as colorful flashes called fire.
