Return & Exchange Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply return or exchange it within 30 days. Most orders can be exchanged or returned by phone — for returns under AUD 770, please use our online return portal.

Please note our return and exchange policy timelines begin when your purchase is available for shipment or pickup.

What products aren't eligible for return?

  • Orders outside of our 30-day return policy (including Layaway orders).
  • Rings that have been resized or modified.
  • Engraved fine jewelry. Please note that while you can return an engraved ring, we charge AUD 65 to remove the custom engraving.
  • Personalized fine jewelry such as name necklaces.
  • Items that have been previously exchanged.
  • Custom designed jewelry.
  • Any orders that were altered while in process.

Returns & Exchanges by Phone

A return or exchange can be initiated by phone for all eligible orders. This includes unworn products shipped from any address (within and outside of the US). Please call us at 1.415.426.2781 to start the process.

Instructions for Returns & Exchanges:

  1. Call Us at 1.415.426.2781. We will email a return shipping authorization number and provide a free FedEx return shipping label.
  2. Pack Your Jewelry.
    1. Place your jewelry back in the original packaging. If you do not have the original packaging, please include the ring/jewelry box inside a small FedEx Priority box and seal it. Place the small FedEx Priority box inside a medium FedEx Priority box.
    2. Make sure promotional gift(s) with purchase are included. You're welcome to keep your complimentary jewelry cleaner.
    3. Seal the box and mark out any old addresses or bar codes.
    4. Write your shipping authorization number on the outside of the box (information can be found in your return confirmation email).
    5. Affix the FedEx label to the outside of the box.
  3. Return Your Package.
    1. Find a FedEx Staffed location by first searching for your zip code and then filtering to “Shipping assistance.”
    2. Obtain a FedEx receipt to confirm that the item has been shipped – this receipt will act as proof of insurance. Brilliant Earth and FedEx are not responsible for packages left in FedEx Drop Boxes or Non-FedEx Staffed locations.

  1. Initiate Your Return Here.
  2. Select Return Method. You may print a FedEx label, use a FedEx Mobile QR Code, or drop-off at one of our stores.
  3. Follow Return Instructions. You can find your Order Number within your return confirmation email.

Refunds

Once your order is returned, our Quality Assurance team will receive and inspect your item(s) to ensure they are in unworn condition and verify that all promotional gift(s) with purchase are present before issuing a refund.

Refund FAQs:

  How long will it take to process my refund?

Your refund will be processed approximately 5 business days after we receive it.

  How will I receive my refund?

Your refund will be issued back to the method of payment used in the original purchase, or by check if the original payment method was bank wire, cash, or any other payment requiring special processing. If the original method of payment was a credit card, you will see the refund reflected on your account within the next 4-7 business days.

International bank wire purchases will be refunded in USD according to the exchange rate at time of purchase. Brilliant Earth is not responsible for differences in foreign currency refund amounts due to exchange rate fluctuations between the time of purchase and refund. Brilliant Earth is not responsible for any foreign exchange or other fees that are charged by the customer’s financial institution.

  Do I need to include the return shipping authorization number for return?

Yes. Packages that are received without a return shipping authorization number will not be accepted for refund. Return shipping authorizations are active for seven days from the date of issue and packages must be shipped during the active time period of your return shipping authorization. If your return shipping authorization has expired, please contact us at 1.415.426.2781 to request another return shipping authorization.


Resizing

Within 60 days, we will resize your ring for free, including free shipping both ways. The 60-day policy begins when your purchase is first available for shipment or pickup.

What rings cannot be resized?

  • Eternity rings cannot be resized due to their design, but they can be exchanged under our 30-day policy.
  • Alternative metals (such as tantalum or titanium) cannot be resized but they can be exchanged under our 30-day policy.
  • Custom, modified, and engraved rings can be resized but are subject to resize fees.

Outside of the 60-day free resize period, rings can be resized for a fee or through an Extend Protection Plan, as long as they're within the recommended sizing range. If you need to file a claim for a resize under your Extend Protection Plan, please contact the Extend Customer Care Team through the Extend Claims Portal or via phone at 877.248.7707.

Comparative Purchasing

Comparative purchasing is purchasing multiple products with the intent of keeping one and returning the remainder. To maintain the high quality of our pieces and keep our prices competitive, comparative purchasing is not allowed. If we suspect an order is comparative, it may be blocked from shipping or returning.


Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-transferrable and cannot be returned or redeemed for cash. Any unused balance will remain available for future purchase under the same gift card reference code. Brilliant Earth is not responsible for stolen or misplaced gift cards.
