Finally, I recommend maxing out at one carat for this style. The beauty of the twisted band is tied to the fact that you can--duh--actually see the twists. A stone larger than one carat will obscure the twist closest to the stone, and since your other fingers will obscure the twist farthest from the stone, you will be left with a band that appears to fold into the center rather than twist around itself.
