Our Progress to Carbon Neutrality

FSC Certified Packaging

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Since 2018, we’ve calculated our GHG emissions from:

And through various projects, we’ve succeeded in displacing our operational emissions since we began calculating them.

Powered by Clean Energy – 2022

To support the global renewable energy transition, we purchased Green-e certified Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) for our corporate electricity use in 2022 from Native’s Renewable Energy Credit Portfolio. Their Portfolio accelerates the development of new and innovative solar energy projects that will produce renewable energy for years to come.

“Native seeks out renewable energy projects that are able to demonstrate their need for additional financing. Support for the Renewables portfolio enables Native to commit to long-term purchases of the RECs from these projects before they come online. This means that supporters of the Renewables Portfolio can have confidence that they are enabling the construction of a new, community-scale renewable energy project each year.”Aaron Shavitz, Senior Sustainability Analyst, Native

Sky Wind Project in Maharashtra, India – 2022

Regionally located near the majority of our manufacturers, this project displaces GHG emissions from the “dirty grid” and produces energy equivalent to that used by approximately 14,000 US homes over 1 year. The carbon emissions reductions from this project have been validated by the Verified Carbon Standard.

Texas Capricorn Ridge Wind Project – 2020 and 2021

This project generates enough renewable energy to power 220,000 homes, reduces dependence on fossil fuels, develops local business and infrastructure, and fosters community development.

Envira Amazonia Project – 2018 and 2019

This project reduces carbon emissions, mitigates climate change, conserves habitats, improves local water quality, and controls soil erosion.

Why?

We are passionate about cultivating a more transparent, sustainable, and compassionate jewelry industry. To live by our mission, we are committed to responsible sourcing, giving back, and sustainable practices. Climate change poses an immediate threat to us all, and we encourage individuals and businesses alike to take action to reduce their impact on the environment.
