I purchased this ring as a backup engagement ring (another custom engagement ring was in-work at a local jewelry shop, but I was unsure if it would be completed in time for my planned proposal date). My plan B was to use this Rosebud ring for the proposal and as a stand-in until the custom ring was completed (and return the Rosebud ring). Luckily, the custom ring was completed in time for the planned proposal date, so I never had to use this ring. I ended up returning it to Brilliant Earth for a full refund without any issues (thanks Brilliant Earth!). Service, delivery and the return process with Brilliant Earth were all excellent. However the ring itself disappointed me (and my fiancee to whom I later showed the ring - she tried it on so that I could provide pictures with this feedback). The ring was very lightweight - too lightweight in our opinion for an engagement ring. It was so light that it felt like a ring you get from a 25-cent machine that comes in a plastic bubble! The diamond itself did not have much sparkle with the rose cut and looked a bit dull. I'm all for unique cuts that are different from the typical round brilliant, but this 1/2 carat rose cut just didn't seem special enough for an engagement ring. Maybe if there was a 1 carat option it would look more "wow". It's a nice ring but honestly I would only pay a couple hundred bucks for it. At close to $3000, it doesn't seem like a good value to me. If you are looking for something unique, your partner wouldn't mind a duller-looking diamond cut, and you don't have a lot of time to search around, this might be a good option for you. But if you've got time, keep looking as I think you can do a lot better for this price. Please see the attached pictures. My fiancee tried it on and I think the pictures actually make it look better than it does in real life. She has extremely small hands (ring size 3 3/4), so keep that in mind when looking at the relative size of the 1/2 carat diamond.
