I gave the ring to my girlfriend (now, fiance) when I proposed. She absolutely loves the ring. The "True North" ring design was a great choice. It's difficult to make a ring with a solitary diamond feel unique, but it really does have a "WOW!" factor.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was great. My order was an international order, and while it did take a little longer than I thought it would (roughly 3 weeks to ship, or 5-6 weeks from the time of my order), the process of going through Australian Customs was hassle free.

I have never purchased anything this expensive over the internet, and internationally, but I believe that my experience with Brilliant Earth was as trouble-free as one could expect, within reason.

My engagement ring is a brushed platinum true north set with a diamond, and I've worn it daily for two months. I take it off at night and for dish-washing, etc. The brushed finish, and setting overall, are very well crafted and only show 1-2 minor scratches on the palm side. A polished finish or other metal may behave differently. The style is delicate yet classic, and the clean lines really let the stone take precedence. Despite it's minimalism, the unusual prong direction makes the setting interesting visually.

Service and delivery comments:

The ring arrived promptly and in perfect condition. We ordered my modified ring over the phone, and customer service emailed more setting photos as well as photos of different stones and stone certifications. They made purchasing without seeing less stressful, but did seem to get impatient with some of my more detailed requests... and I do not like their no-more-than-30-day free resize (and no free resize on modified settings!) policy. Overall, I'd recommend Brilliant Earth.

I wanted to get my fiancée, Cara, something a little different. She's a highly intelligent, ethical and talented artist, as well as being a truly beautiful woman. I knew my choice had to reflect these qualities.
She had expressed concerns (which I share) about the human toll of diamond mining. I found that Brilliant Earth shares those concerns, as well.
Cara is a very proud graduate of U.C. Berkeley. I knew a San Francisco-based company would prove exciting to her. And the blue sapphire and platinum look radiant on her skin.

I couldn't be happier with this ring. I've had it for about 18 months & I still look at it at least once a week & think, "It's so beautiful--I can't believe I get to wear it!" The fact that the stone is conflict free makes it perfect.
