Comments about PT Lotus Flower Diamond Ring:
This ring is beautiful! We picked out this ring for our engagement in platinum with a .33 carat center diamond. I've had to many comments on how gorgeous this ring is. It has the look of a traditional halo setting, but the way the diamonds are set, the metal isnt seen around the outside of the ring from the top giving it a little more unique look. The band is the perfect size, it looks nice with the setting and it's very comfortable to wear. I also picked this ring because I can get a plain band or one with diamonds and either will look great with it. I was worried the setting would sit very high off my finger and it doesn't, yet there's still plenty of room for a wedding band to sit comfortably tucked up beside it.
I picked platinum rather than white gold because I didn't want to have to worry about sending my ring back to get it re-plated if it started to yellow. The representative told me that platinum is denser so it does hold a diamond better and doesn't yellow over time, but it's also softer than gold so it will scratch easier, and that I could take it to a jewelry store to have it buffed periodically, which can be done almost anywhere. I will say that the platinum does scratch easier than my gold rings, and it is noticeable to me since I look at it close pretty often, but it's only on the bottom side of the band. The top around the setting is still shiny since that area doesn't come into contact with anything. With that said, I would still definitely get platinum, a once in a while buffing is worth knowing the diamonds are safer.
